Prestations and expertise of the unit...
Expertises and prestations
- Environmental risk assessment (nitrate, metals, greenhouse gases ...) related to the recycling of waste and organic matter through agricultural practices
- Analysis of agronomic and environmental impacts of cropping systems: fertility, toxicity, pollution of air, surface and groundwater
- Assistance for the organization and operation of farms and farm groups
- Diagnosis of organization and efficiency of waste recycling channels
Skills and know-how
- Sampling and testing of soils, plants and water from field to laboratory (nitrogen, carbon, biological activities, gas)
- Analysis of solutions (waste, soil water) to search for organic and inorganic molecules (sugars, polyols, organic acids ...) by ion chromatography. To be used by: research organizations, water agency, consultants
- Measurement of microbial biomass and associated activities (mineralization, nitrification, denitrification ...)
- Adaptation of the channels of sampling and analysis to the constraints of working conditions in developing countries
- Methodological development for the analysis of organic waste by different techniques
- Development of pre-treatment of waste to reduce their environmental impact
- Development of laboratory experimental techniques - under aerobic and anaerobic conditions - (for soil and waste), under controlled conditions of temperature and moisture
- Cultivation of plants under controlled temperature and moisture: phytotron or greenhouse; pot growing or hydroponic solution or rhizotrons
- Study of soil-plant interactions and dynamics of elements in the rhizosphere
- Study and modeling of the transformation of organic matter in soil
- Study and modeling of the transfer of water and solutes (nitrate, metals, pesticides) in soil and plant
- Control of RHIZOtest: plant laboratory test for assessing the phytoavailability of trace elements in contaminated soils (ISO standardization under ISO / CD 16198)
